Why This Bookstore Exists
I was motivated to start More Than Words Bookstore because of my son, who is autistic and ADHD.
As I supported him through learning, communication, and emotional regulation, I became deeply aware of how limited and inaccessible truly inclusive books and resources can be.
Many stories didn’t reflect his experiences, sensory needs, or the way he understands the world—and too often, families like ours were left adapting materials that were never designed for children like him in the first place.
I wanted to create a bookstore rooted in empathy and lived experience, offering books and learning resources that feel supportive rather than overwhelming.
More Than Words Bookstore was built to bridge the gap between education and emotional understanding by providing stories that honor neurodiversity, encourage self-expression, and foster belonging.
This business is deeply personal, but it is also intentional and sustainable.
Why do you write under two different names?
I write under two names to clearly separate the types of stories I create. Navíja Reyes focuses on emotionally driven stories about resilience, healing, and personal growth. Vina Senji writes adult romance exploring deep emotional connections, vulnerability, and the complexities of love. Using two names helps readers understand the tone and themes of each book while giving me the creative space to tell the stories that matter to me.
